Liam Hickey’s impressive performance with two goals propelled Canada to a 3-1 victory over Czech Republic in the Para Cup hockey match held in Dawson Creek, B.C. Vincent Boily contributed another goal for the Canadian team, securing their second consecutive win following a dominant 7-0 triumph over China in the tournament opener.
The Czechs managed to get on the scoreboard with Vaclav Hecko’s goal with just 6:36 remaining in the game, but it was not enough to overcome Canada’s lead. The game saw a slow start with a scoreless first period, but Boily broke the deadlock early in the second period with a goal just 2:10 into the frame.
Hickey then extended Canada’s lead with a goal nearly ten minutes later, before sealing the victory with his second goal of the game at 11:56 in the final period, making the score 3-0. The Canadian team’s next challenge will be against their rivals, the United States, scheduled for Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
