Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment is making adjustments to accommodate Toronto sports fans who wish to support the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series. The Toronto Maple Leafs and Raptors have rescheduled their upcoming games to allow fans to watch the Blue Jays face off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the MLB championship.
MLSE’s President and CEO, Keith Pelley, expressed pride in the unity of the city’s teams to provide fans with an opportunity to be part of a significant moment in Toronto and Canada’s history. The Rogers Centre will host the first two games of the championship series on Friday and Saturday, both scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
In support of the Blue Jays, the Raptors have moved up the start time of their home opener against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday to 6:30 p.m. ET from the initially planned 7:30 p.m. ET. Similarly, the Maple Leafs have adjusted the puck drop time of their game against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday from 7 p.m. ET to 5 p.m. ET.
Furthermore, the Maple Leafs have rescheduled their game against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday to start at 6 p.m. ET, and the Raptors will host the Houston Rockets at 6:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
Pelley acknowledged the complexity of coordinating these time changes involving various stakeholders such as leagues, coaches, players, and broadcasters. The Maple Leafs and Raptors will also broadcast the World Series games on the Scotiabank Arena videoboard following their own games.
Additionally, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ regular-season finale against the Ottawa Redblacks on Friday will commence at 7 p.m. The team plans to provide CFL fans with in-stadium updates and live coverage of the World Series opener on TVs around Hamilton Stadium, with the full broadcast shown on the main videoboard after the game.
Toronto sports enthusiasts can expect an exciting period as the city’s teams come together to rally behind the Toronto Blue Jays in their pursuit of glory in the World Series.
