Despite being physically distant by over 400 kilometers in England on Thursday, Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, each engaged in local cultural celebrations.
In Cornwall for St. Piran’s Day, Prince William, as the Duke of Cornwall, presented savory local pastries. Meanwhile, Catherine went barefoot and tried traditional dancing in Leicester, meeting with the British Indian community after the Hindu festival of Holi.
These engagements are common for the royals, who have maintained a visible presence in recent weeks, particularly following the arrest and investigation release of former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor amid his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Andrew, the senior royals have continued their public appearances, signaling their separation from him within the Royal Family.
In addition to these events, William and Catherine participated in the BAFTA Film Awards and visited Wales, where they marked St. David’s Day with a video message entirely in Welsh.
King Charles focused on military-themed engagements, while Queen Camilla supported causes such as literacy and aid for domestic violence victims.
According to royal author Carolyn Harris, the Royal Family’s business-as-usual approach highlights their detachment from Andrew and signifies the current operational mode for the monarchy.
While the future of royal engagements remains uncertain, plans for higher-profile overseas visits, including a potential trip to the United States by King Charles and Queen Camilla, are under review.
The issue of Andrew’s place in the line of succession remains contentious, with the government considering legislative changes to remove him from the succession list.

The Royal Family’s engagements in Cornwall and Leicester align with the monarchy’s focus on national unity and community outreach under King Charles III’s reign.
By engaging with diverse communities and supporting various causes, the royals aim to strengthen their ties with the people and promote inclusivity.
Despite challenges and uncertainties, the royals continue their public duties, emphasizing their commitment to serving the nation and maintaining their role as unifying figures in the United Kingdom.
