“Toyota Recalls 32,733 Vehicles in Canada Due to Rearview Camera Flaw”

Date:

Toyota has issued a recall for 32,733 vehicles in Canada following a rearview camera flaw that poses an increased crash risk, as per Transport Canada’s recent notification. The issue with the rearview camera could lead to incorrect or non-existent display of the image, contravening Canadian regulations mandating the display of the image in reverse gear, as cited in the notification.

According to the notice, a malfunctioning rearview camera image may impede a driver’s visibility while reversing, potentially elevating the likelihood of an accident. The recall encompasses all Sequoia models manufactured between 2023 and 2025 and all Tundra models, including hybrids, produced from 2022 to 2025, affecting solely vehicles equipped with a 14-inch multimedia display.

Affected vehicle owners will receive written notifications from the automaker, but they can also verify whether their vehicle is subject to the recall by checking Toyota’s recall database online. Owners of impacted models can visit a Toyota dealership to have their multimedia display software updated for rectification.
