The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade took place in New York City, featuring new balloons like Buzz Lightyear and Pac-Man soaring above the streets alongside classic favorites like Tom Turkey. The parade, which started on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and ended at Macy’s Herald Square flagship store on 34th Street, showcased a total of 34 balloons, 28 floats, 11 marching bands, and various performers.
Crowds gathered on balconies to catch a glimpse of the Stuart the Minion balloon as it glided through the parade route. The event drew enthusiastic reactions from spectators, with people of all ages enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Among the highlights was the debut of the Mario balloon by Nintendo, adding a touch of whimsy to the procession. Music artist Shaggy was among the 29 performers featured this year, seen aboard the Jennie-O float as part of the lively spectacle.
Spectators inside buildings also had the opportunity to view the vibrant parade, including the new Pac-Man balloon as it traversed the Manhattan streets. Another eye-catching addition was the Derpy Tiger balloon from the popular series “KPop Demon Hunters,” delighting onlookers with its unique design.
Space ranger Buzz Lightyear made a grand appearance as a new balloon, soaring high above the parade route to the delight of the crowd. Colorful performers in elaborate costumes added to the festive ambiance, showcasing their talents as they marched along the parade route.
The Labubu float from Pop Mart made its way down Sixth Avenue, featuring people dressed in Labubu costumes, adding a touch of whimsy to the procession. Macy’s Santa Claus also made a jolly appearance, riding on Santa’s Sleigh and spreading holiday cheer to the onlookers.
Additionally, the Spider-Man balloon by Marvel swung through the streets, capturing the imagination of parade-goers with its iconic superhero presence. The parade was a colorful and joyous celebration, bringing together families and spectators to mark the holiday season in grand style.
