“Hockey Canada Unveils Striking Olympic Jerseys”

Date:

Hockey Canada revealed the new Olympic hockey uniforms for the men’s, women’s, and Para teams set to participate in the Milan-Cortina Games. The jerseys offer two choices for players: a white jersey featuring a red maple leaf and a red jersey with a black maple leaf.

According to Hockey Canada, the unique design of the maple leaf emblems symbolizes a diamond, highlighting the athletes’ resilience under intense pressure. CEO Katherine Henderson emphasized that the jerseys embody the essence of Canadian hockey and the unwavering support of fans.

The jerseys, crafted by Nike, made their debut during the intermission of the Canada-U.S. Rivalry Series opener. David Shoemaker, the Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee, described the uniforms as a representation of Canada’s rich Olympic hockey history and national pride.

The upcoming Games mark a significant moment for hockey, as NHL players return to the Olympic stage and the introduction of the PWHL coincides with the event. The Canadian women’s team will commence their gold medal defense on February 5, a day before the opening ceremony. The men’s team, featuring NHL players for the first time since 2014, will kick off their campaign on February 12, while the Para hockey tournament is scheduled to start on March 6.
