The Cavalry FC, based in Calgary, has secured their spot in the Canadian Premier League final for the third consecutive time. In a thrilling CPL Contender semifinal at Hamilton Stadium on Sunday, the defending champions, Cavalry, defeated Forge FC with a 1-0 scoreline.
Tobias Warschewski found the back of the net in the 57th minute for the Cavalry, setting up a showdown with Atletico Ottawa in the upcoming North Star Cup final scheduled for next Sunday. The North Star Cup now replaces the previously awarded North Star Shield, which had been given to CPL champions from 2019 to 2022.
