CF Montreal has terminated assistant coach Maxime Leconte following an internal disciplinary review. The Major League Soccer team announced the decision on Wednesday without disclosing the specific cause for Leconte’s dismissal, citing confidentiality.
Leconte, a 35-year-old from France, had only been with the club for a brief period since joining the coaching staff in May. His departure comes after Marco Donadel was appointed as CF Montreal’s permanent head coach two weeks ago.
Donadel, an Italian, assumed the role on an interim basis in March, leading the team through a challenging season that concluded with a 6-18-10 record. CF Montreal had the youngest squad and the lowest payroll in Major League Soccer during the season.
