Drake Drops Triple Album Surprise: “Iceman,” “Habibti,” “Maid of Honour”

Date:

After a series of mysterious hints, including a massive display of ice blocks in downtown Toronto and a CN Tower takeover, Drake has finally dropped his highly anticipated ninth studio album, named “Iceman,” along with two surprise albums called “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour.” These surprise projects were unveiled during Drake’s recent livestream, titled “Iceman Episode 4,” where he released a total of 43 songs, totaling around two and a half hours, with “Iceman” being the main focus.

Drake had been hinting at “Iceman” since August 2024, following a well-publicized rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. During his Australia tour in 2025, Drake described the album as a personal conversation that his fans needed to hear.

Prior to this release, Drake’s last solo albums were in 2023 with “For all the Dogs,” following a joint album with PartyNextDoor in 2025. With his reputation as a leading figure in rap and his pursuit to surpass Michael Jackson’s record for No. 1 songs, the stakes are high for Drake.

On “Iceman,” Drake addresses his feud with Kendrick Lamar right from the intro track, “Make Them Cry,” reflecting on the aftermath of the beef and taking fresh shots at various individuals, including Lamar, DJ Khaled, A$AP Rocky, and others. The album serves as a platform for Drake to express his thoughts on the past events and to hit back at his rivals.

The music videos for “Iceman” showcase various Toronto landmarks, featuring Drake at locations like Sotto Sotto and Brass Rail. Additionally, the visuals include scenes of Drake cruising around downtown Toronto and inside the CN Tower. Notably, Drake was seen in a video filmed at Mayor Olivia Chow’s office in Toronto’s City Hall, adding a local touch to the visual elements.

Drake’s album “Iceman” also includes several Canadian references and symbols, with lyrics mentioning Canadian brands and cities, emphasizing his connection to his home country.

Apart from “Iceman,” Drake’s surprise albums, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” offer a diverse range of sounds and themes. “Habibti” delves into love songs with a twist, while “Maid of Honour” explores dancehall, house, Afro-swing, and U.K. rap genres, catering to a lively party atmosphere.

With his latest releases, Drake has delivered a mix of emotions, from introspective tracks to energetic party anthems, showcasing his versatility as an artist and his ability to connect with listeners on multiple levels.
