“Three stabbed at Yaletown seawall, female suspect at large”

Date:

Vancouver police reported that three individuals were stabbed at the Yaletown seawall on Friday morning, with the female suspect still at large. The incident occurred near David Lam Park around 7:30 a.m. PT, prompting a swift police response.

Const. Tania Visintin, a spokesperson for the Vancouver Police Department, stated that the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital. The stabbings are believed to have occurred in three distinct incidents, potentially just minutes apart.

According to Visintin, the attacks appeared to be unprovoked and random, with no prior altercations. The suspect is described as an Indigenous woman in her late 20s to early 30s, sporting long black hair tied in a ponytail and a slender physique. She was reportedly dressed in a large black leather jacket, tight pants, and a leopard-print shirt or scarf.

Authorities are currently scouring the area for video footage to obtain a clearer image of the suspect. Visintin acknowledged the apprehension felt by seawall users and local residents following the incident, emphasizing the traumatizing nature of random attacks despite the victims’ physical recovery prospects.

Visintin urged individuals with any relevant information or video recordings to come forward and assist the ongoing investigation.
