The Vancouver Whitecaps are set to face off against San Diego FC in California this Saturday for the Major League Soccer’s Western Conference final. Soccer enthusiasts who purchased tickets for a possible MLS playoff game at B.C. Place will be refunded following San Diego FC’s 1-0 victory over the Minnesota Loons on Monday in the conference semifinals.
The Whitecaps secured their conference semifinal win last weekend by defeating Los Angeles FC in penalty shootouts in front of a crowd of 54,000 at B.C. Place. This victory propelled them to the Western Conference final against either San Diego or Minnesota, depending on the outcome of the Monday match.
San Diego, the top team in the Western Conference during the regular season, faced off against the fourth-ranked Loons in the semifinals. The upcoming match between the Whitecaps and San Diego is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. PT at Snapdragon Stadium. The victor will progress to the MLS championship on December 6, where they will challenge either Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami CF or New York City FC.
Ticket sales for a potential game against Minnesota were launched at B.C. Place last Sunday, but due to San Diego’s victory, the upcoming match will take place in California. Ticketmaster assured ticket holders that refunds for the Saturday game in Vancouver will be processed automatically through the original payment method. No further action is needed to obtain the refund.
