Date:

Jannik Sinner emerged victorious in the final showdown of the “Sincaraz” rivalry for 2025. The second-seeded Sinner clinched the ATP Finals trophy by defeating the top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 7-6 (4), 7-5 in their sixth encounter of the year. This victory marked Sinner’s second win over Alcaraz this season, following his Wimbledon triumph.

Expressing his joy, Sinner stated, “It was an incredible season. Ending it this way, in front of my Italian fans, holds a special significance for me.” Despite the loss, Alcaraz had already secured the year-ending No. 1 ranking and was competing in his first final at the elite event featuring the top eight players of the year.

Alcaraz currently leads their head-to-head career meetings with a score of 10-6. The duo has clashed in the last three Grand Slam finals, with Alcaraz triumphing at the French Open, Sinner claiming victory at Wimbledon, and Alcaraz emerging victorious at the U.S. Open. Additionally, they faced off in the Italian Open and Cincinnati Open finals this year.

Looking ahead, Alcaraz expressed his readiness to compete against Sinner in more finals next year, to which Sinner reciprocated by hoping for intense battles between them. Notably, Sinner also secured the Australian Open title by defeating Alexander Zverev in the final, with both players each winning two majors this year.

In the thrilling final match, the pro-Sinner crowd fervently supported their favorite with chants and visuals, showcasing their unwavering enthusiasm. Sinner displayed exceptional composure, saving a crucial set point and dominating the tiebreaker, while Alcaraz received treatment for his right thigh during the match.

Sinner’s strategic play and improved serving skills were evident throughout the match, culminating in his well-deserved victory over Alcaraz. With this win, Sinner extended his winning streak at the ATP Finals to 10 matches and maintained his unbeaten record on indoor hard courts, now standing at an impressive 31 consecutive wins.

In the doubles final, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten secured a decisive victory over Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski with a score of 7-5, 6-3.
