Valerie Maltais, a speedskater from Canada, secured two silver medals at the World Cup event’s concluding day on Sunday.
Hailing from Saguenay, Quebec, Maltais finished the women’s mass start in 8 minutes 25.62 seconds, earning the second position.
The gold in the women’s mass start went to Mia Manganello of the United States with a time of 8:25.57, while Ji-Woo Park from South Korea clinched the bronze in 9:01.80.
Participating in the women’s team pursuit, Maltais, along with Ivanie Blondin and Isabelle Weidemann, both representing Ottawa, achieved a silver medal with a time of 2:52.40.
Japan secured the gold with a time of 2:52.13, and the United States settled for bronze with a timing of 2:54.01.
In the men’s mass start, Antoine Gelinas-Beaulieu from Sherbrooke, Quebec, claimed the bronze medal. His time of 7:40.31 placed him behind Jorrit Bergsma of the Netherlands (7:39.20) and Felix Maly of Germany (7:40.17).
