Drake delighted his fans with a variety of content, including new tracks, in his highly anticipated “not so short film” released on Tuesday. The rapper had teased the project on Instagram, and it lived up to expectations.
Titled “Fear of Missing Out (FOMO),” the hour-long film was livestreamed on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple, showcasing Drake’s summer adventures and luxurious lifestyle. Viewers were taken on a journey through Drake’s Toronto mansion, where he danced, spent time with his mother and her friends, and cruised on his lime-green luxury speedboat towards the Toronto skyline.
The video was filled with Toronto and Canada references, including a scene with Drake and rapper Loe Shimmy in $150,000 Iron Man suits at the Canadian National Exhibition. The star-studded film featured appearances from SexyyRed, Stunna Sandy, Winnie Harlow, Kevin Durant, Lena the Plug, and others.
Similar to his previous livestream, Drake included new music in “FOMO,” featuring collaborations with Don Toliver, PartyNextDoor, Yeat, and a remix of Ella Langley’s hit “Choosin’ Texas.” Additionally, Drake announced plans for a world tour in 2027 during the Toronto premiere of the film.
Despite Drake making the film private on YouTube after its debut, those who watched it had mixed reactions online. Some users expressed disappointment, while others praised the film as a symbol of Drake’s long and successful music career. Jamaican artist Spice also congratulated Drake on Instagram for his hard work and dedication to “FOMO.”
Drake, also known as Aubrey Graham, had been building anticipation for the release with cryptic Instagram posts, leading up to the unveiling of “FOMO.” In his reflective captions, he shared insights and motivations behind the film, encouraging viewers to embrace life’s opportunities and challenges.
