“Céline Dion Makes Spectacular Comeback with Romantic French Ballad ‘Dansons'”

Date:

Céline Dion has made a comeback with the release of a new single titled “Dansons,” a romantic French-language ballad that translates to “Let’s dance” in English. The accompanying music video showcases romantic scenes in Paris with couples dancing freely in public spaces.

This release marks Dion’s return to the spotlight ahead of her upcoming series of 16 shows at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17. Speculation about her comeback was confirmed with the appearance of mysterious signs in Paris featuring lyrics from her popular songs such as “My Heart Will Go On” and “The Power of Love.”

Written by renowned songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, “Dansons” is Dion’s first French release in over a decade and her first original song in years. The collaboration between Dion and Goldman dates back to their work on projects like “Encore un soir” in 2016 and her 1995 album “D’eux,” which remains the best-selling French-language album of all time.

Dion’s return to the music scene follows a hiatus due to health issues that led to the cancellation of her Courage world tour in 2023. She disclosed her battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that impacts her singing ability. Despite the challenges, Dion made a public singing comeback in July 2024 with a performance at the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris and later at a fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, celebrating designer Elie Saab’s 45-year career.
