A panel has chosen Canadian Vicky Mboko, Janice Tjen, Lilli Tagger, Arnaud Bailly, and Luka Mikrut as the International Tennis Federation’s Class of 2025, recognizing them as promising talents in the sport.
These five players were announced this week based on their performances on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
19-year-old Mboko, hailing from Burlington, Ont., secured four consecutive ITF World Tennis Tour titles early in the year. She also triumphed in a WTA 1000 tournament in Montreal and reached the third round at the French Open.
Throughout the year, she maintained a 62-14 win-loss record across all competitions, rising from No. 350 in the world rankings at the season’s outset to her current position at No. 18.
23-year-old Tjen clinched five ITF World Tennis Tour titles consecutively, including a remarkable 27-match winning streak. She made history at the U.S. Open by becoming the first Indonesian player to compete in a Grand Slam main draw since 2004, defeating Veronika Kudermetova. Tjen also secured her first WTA Tour trophy in November.
Tagger, a 17-year-old from Austria, stood out as the youngest WTA Tour-level finalist this season, achieving this feat as a wild-card entry in Jiujiang, China, in October.
Belgian 20-year-old Bailly boasted a 60-19 record and reached nine finals in 2025, elevating his ranking from No. 802 to just outside the top 200.
Croatian 21-year-old Mikrut claimed four ITF World Tennis Tour titles in March and April, winning each without dropping a set.
Notable past recipients of this ITF accolade include Mirra Andreeva, Iva Jovic, Learner Tien, and Jakub Mensik.
Victoria Mboko of Burlington, Ont., defeated Spain’s Cristina Bucsa 7-5, 6-7(9), 6-2 to win the Hong Kong Open.
