Canadian freestyle skier Naomi Urness clinched the gold medal in the women’s big air World Cup event held on Saturday in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Hailing from Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Urness achieved an impressive score of 156.25, securing her first FIS World Cup win. Ukraine’s Kateryna Kotsar with a score of 152.50 and China’s Yang Ruyi with 148.50 points completed the podium standings.
During the Thursday qualifying round, Urness placed third with a score of 80.50. This victory marked her third World Cup medal of the season at just 21 years old. Prior to this event, Urness had earned a silver medal on November 29 and a bronze medal the previous Saturday, both competitions taking place in China.
Naomi Urness’s recent success has propelled her to the top spot in the FIS World Cup big air and freeski standings, showcasing her talent and determination in the competitive skiing world.
