“Ontario Premier Targets Republicans with Anti-Tariff Ad”

Date:

Ontario has allocated $75 million for the broadcasting of a new anti-tariff commercial targeting Republican voters in the United States. The ad features a recording of former U.S. President Ronald Reagan from 1987 expressing his views on the ineffectiveness of tariffs in the long run.

Premier Doug Ford, who regards Reagan as his favorite American president, believes that Republicans will easily recognize Reagan’s voice and absorb the message that tariffs could ultimately harm Americans. The premier’s office has confirmed that the advertisement will debut this week on Newsmax and Bloomberg.

In addition to these initial airings, the ad will also be shown over the next two weeks on prominent networks such as Fox News, Fox Sports, NBC, CBS, CNBC, ESPN, and ABC, including their local affiliates. Furthermore, it will be broadcast on local stations owned by Comcast, Spectrum, and the Sinclair Group.

This latest campaign is part of a series of anti-tariff ads launched by the Ontario government in the U.S. Previously, one ad emphasized the enduring friendship and trade relationship between Canada, Ontario, and the United States.
