A tragic incident at a youth hockey game in Rhode Island resulted in a third fatality, as confirmed by authorities on Wednesday. The victim, Gerald Dorgan, who had been in critical condition, succumbed to his injuries, according to Pawtucket police. Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of another life due to the shooting.
The deceased victim, Gerald Dorgan, was the father and grandfather of the other two victims, Rhonda Dorgan and Aidan Dorgan, who were also killed in the attack. The shooter, identified as 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, took his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot. Authorities mentioned that Robert Dorgan, also known as Roberta Esposito and Roberta Dorgano, targeted his ex-wife Rhonda Dorgan and adult son Aidan Dorgan in the shooting.
Investigators revealed that the shooter had a specific focus on targeting his own family members. Rhonda Dorgan’s mother, Linda Dorgan, and a family friend named Thomas Geruso sustained injuries during the incident. Law enforcement praised the swift actions of several individuals who intervened and managed to subdue the attacker amidst the chaos at the hockey game.
