The Canadian Screen Awards week has begun with the announcement of the Children’s Television Awards winners in Toronto. The event marked the first of six ceremonies, revealing 16 winners across various categories.
Josette Jorge won the award for Best supporting performer in children’s or youth category for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.” She was captured holding her Canadian Screen Award in a photo.
The award for Best writing in the pre-school category went to “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures – Giggling Flufferoos.” “Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express” secured the Best original music award in animation.
Will Arnett received the Best voice performance award for “Super Team Canada.” A photo from the 2026 Academy Awards showcased Arnett, who won two Canadian Screen Awards for the same show.
“Old Enough! – Where’s The Ginger, Please?” won the Best picture editing award in the children’s or youth category. Katie Boland took home the Best direction award for children’s or youth for “Macy Murdoch — Tick, Tick, Gone.”
“The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia — What is Happening to Me?!” won the Best writing award in the children’s or youth category. “Unicorn Academy — Winter Solstice” secured the Best sound award in animation.
“Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum — I am Jackie Robinson” won both the Best writing and Best direction awards in animation. The Canada Media Fund kids’ choice award went to “Mittens & Pants.”
The Best pre-school program or series award was won by “Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood.” “Old Enough!” was recognized as the Best children’s or youth non-fiction program or series.
“Asha Soetan, from ‘Odd Squad,’ won the Best lead performer award in the children’s or youth category. The show also secured the award for Best children’s or youth fiction program or series.
