Alena Sharp Overcomes Torn Meniscus for LPGA Tour

Hamilton native Alena Sharp revealed that she persevered through the LPGA Tour season despite a torn meniscus in her left knee. The 44-year-old shared a photo on Instagram from her hospital bed, showcasing her resilience. Sharp disclosed that she sustained the knee injury sometime in July but continued to compete in five LPGA Tour events from August onwards, including the prestigious CPKC Women’s Open, which is Canada’s national golf championship. Additionally, she participated in an Epson Tour event in August. Despite facing challenges due to the injury, the three-time Olympian refused to use it as an excuse for her subpar performances this season. Sharp remains optimistic about her recovery and aims to return to competitive play in 2026.
