“Inter Miami CF Signs Canadian Goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair”

Date:

Inter Miami CF, the reigning Major League Soccer champions, have officially inked a deal with Canadian goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair for the upcoming season. The agreement, revealed on Sunday, includes an option for the 2027 sprint season before the MLS transitions to a summer-to-spring schedule.

St. Clair, who clinched the MLS goalkeeper of the year title last season with Minnesota United, topped the league with a save percentage of 77.93. Additionally, he achieved personal bests in saves (113) and shutouts (10) during the same season.

Hailing from Pickering, Ontario, the 28-year-old bid farewell to Minnesota fans in December following the expiration of his contract, amid reports linking him to Miami. Argentina’s Oscar Ustari started 25 regular-season matches for Miami in the previous season, while American Rocco Rios Novo began the remaining nine.

St. Clair entered Minnesota through the 2019 MLS SuperDraft as the seventh overall pick from the University of Maryland. Standing at six feet three inches and weighing 193 pounds, the goalkeeper has represented Canada in 18 international matches.
