According to Nournews, a news platform associated with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Gen. Pakpour cautioned both the United States and Israel to refrain from any misjudgments. He reaffirmed the readiness of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard and Iran to promptly carry out orders from the commander-in-chief.
Tensions between Iran and the U.S. have escalated following the violent suppression of protests that started on December 28, triggered by the devaluation of Iran’s currency, the rial, and persisted for about two weeks.
Activists reported a significant increase in the number of arrests, surpassing 40,000 individuals, raising concerns over potential death penalties for some detainees.
