SeatGeek Canada has been hit with two additional fines by the Ontario government for allegedly violating a recent law that limits event ticket sales to face value. According to the province’s consumer protection website, the latest fines imposed on the ticket resale platform this month amount to a total of $22,500.
The first fine, totaling $15,000, was issued for purportedly offering a ticket for sale above the resale price limit. The second fine, amounting to $7,500, was imposed for allegedly not disclosing the complete ticket price when a seat was purchased from an original seller.
Neither the province nor SeatGeek Canada has promptly addressed inquiries regarding the specific events associated with the fines or whether the reseller intends to contest the penalties. In August, the province had already fined the company $25,000 for similar violations.
