The Vancouver Goldeneyes, led by Claire Thompson, Sophie Jaques, and Izzy Daniel, staged a remarkable comeback in the third period to secure a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Boston Fleet at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Despite Jamie Lee Rattray putting Boston ahead 3-1 early in the third period, Vancouver, with a crowd of 33,871 in attendance, managed to equalize with goals from Thompson and Jaques, including a crucial power-play goal.
Daniel then sealed the win for the Goldeneyes, with Emerance Maschmeyer delivering a solid performance in goal to maintain the lead. Tereza Vanišová and Michela Cava contributed assists on key goals, with Hannah Miller and Jenn Gardiner also making significant contributions.
The match started with Boston taking a 1-0 lead, but Miller quickly responded for Vancouver, leveling the score. Susanna Tapani then put Boston ahead 2-1 before the teams played a scoreless second period. Aerin Frankel made 17 saves for Boston, while Maschmeyer made 24 saves for Vancouver.
This victory marks the Goldeneyes’ first win in six away games during the 2025-26 PWHL Takeover Tour, showcasing their resilience and determination on the road.
