Prime Video has made a big reveal for Season 2 of “Off Campus,” introducing Canadian actors Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla as the central couple, Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes. Kalyn portrays the charming hockey defenseman, hailing from Markham, Ont., with a background in hockey. Abdalla takes on the role of Allie, a student at Briar University who works at Malone’s college bar, frequented by Dean and his hockey buddies.
The announcement of the casting change, following the series’ book-inspired structure, was accompanied by a video and promotional images. Each season of “Off Campus” is based on a different couple, mirroring the popular novels by Toronto author Elle Kennedy. Season 1 adapted “The Deal,” focusing on Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, while Season 2 is set to draw from the third book, “The Score,” delving into Dean and Allie’s relationship.
Creator Louisa Levy expressed enthusiasm about continuing Allie and Dean’s storyline in the upcoming season, building on their romance from the previous season. Levy also mentioned that Hannah and Garrett would play a significant role in the show. New additions to the cast include Philippa Soo, known for “Hamilton” and “Doctor Odyssey,” and India Fowler, who will portray Grace Ivers, John Logan’s love interest in the second book, “The Mistake.”
Returning cast members include Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Antonio Cipriano, and Jalen Thomas Brooks. “Off Campus” has proven to be a hit on Prime Video, currently ranking as the top show on Amazon Prime Video in Canada. The series, which premiered all eight episodes on May 13, garnered 36 million viewers globally within the first 12 days, marking a successful debut season for the streaming platform.
