The Ottawa Senators have addressed false and fabricated stories circulating online regarding goaltender Linus Ullmark and his recent leave of absence. Ullmark, 32, has been on leave since late December for personal reasons, with the full support of the team. Despite not disclosing specific details, the organization released a strong statement condemning the unfounded rumors that surfaced on social media.
General manager and president of hockey operations, Steve Staios, expressed disappointment in the spread of baseless stories and emphasized the importance of respecting Ullmark’s privacy. The statement called out malicious online individuals for attempting to disrupt the team and put an end to the unwarranted speculation.
Furthermore, Senators players, including team captain Brady Tkachuk, showed their solidarity with Ullmark following the announcement of his leave. As of now, the team has not provided a timeline for Ullmark’s return to the ice.
