“Rock League Unveils Global Franchise Lineups”

Date:

The Rock League revealed the lineups and team designations for the upcoming April 2026 launch. The Curling Group, the entity behind the latest professional mixed curling league, introduced the general managers who will oversee each team’s debut season. The competition will include six global franchises, with Canadian players Rachel Homan and Brad Jacobs leading separate teams. These two athletes will also captain their respective Canadian teams at the forthcoming Olympic Winter Games in Italy.

The league comprises six original franchises, including Maple United and Shield Curling Club from Canada, Frontier Curling Club from the USA, and two from Europe and Asia-Pacific each. Each team consists of five women and five men, making the Rock League the world’s first truly mixed-gender professional sports league.

Jennifer Jones, a notable figure in Canadian curling and advisor to the Rock League, mentioned that assembling these lineups was an opportunity to highlight the vast talent and diversity within the sport globally. The aim was to create competitive and entertaining teams that represent their regions while ensuring a level playing field for the league’s inaugural season, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter in curling.

The rosters for each franchise have been carefully curated to showcase a mix of talent from different parts of the world, with a blend of experience and skill to foster a captivating and competitive environment.
