Toronto Tempo fans have eagerly awaited the reveal of their team’s inaugural WNBA season uniforms. The long-anticipated unveiling took place early on Tuesday, showcasing the home and away jerseys for the first time. The home jersey, in classic basketball style, is white, while the away jersey features Tempo Bordeaux, a red hue with purple undertones, accented by Borealis Blue lettering outlines.
According to Tempo’s chief marketing officer, Whitney Bell, the goal was to create timeless designs that blend modernity with wearability as a fashion statement. The team’s name, logo, and color scheme were introduced in December 2024, following Toronto’s new franchise award in May of the same year. Although the uniforms were designed in November 2024, production timelines kept them shrouded in secrecy until now.
Bell expressed the challenge of safeguarding the designs for over a year, given the prevalence of leaks in the industry. The WNBA team’s uniform collection, crafted by Nike, includes the Heroine (home), Explorer (away), and Rebel (alternate) jerseys. Toronto’s Explorer jersey will be available for purchase in January, while the Heroine jersey remains exclusive to the team, and the Rebel design is yet to be unveiled.
Distinctive to Toronto’s uniforms are the six speedlines featured on both the Heroine and Explorer jerseys, symbolizing the city’s six boroughs and the synergy between the five players on the court and the fans as the sixth player. Bell highlighted the unique nature of these speedlines, emphasizing their alignment with the team’s dynamic name and the essence of the game itself.
The Toronto Tempo is gearing up for their WNBA debut in 2026, with most home games set to be played at the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto’s Exhibition Place. Additionally, the team has committed to hosting two regular-season home games in Vancouver and two in Montreal as part of their outreach strategy.
